We offer safe and welcoming homestays for international students who would like to study at ACG Sunderland.
Before any new placement is made, we inspect the home and interview the family to ensure they meet our strict criteria. Homestay families are vetted by the New Zealand Police and must sign a contract, agreeing to our specific rules and standards.
Once approved, homestay families are provided with training and ongoing support. A friendly ACG Education assessor visits all international students under the age of 18 at least three times a year.
All payments are made directly to the homestay families from the ACG Education Student Trust.
While staying in our standard homestays, your child will have their own room with a bed, desk, heating and internet. They’ll have reasonable use of home facilities (such as TV and telephone) and will be provided with breakfast and dinner on weekdays, with lunch added for weekends and holidays. Laundry is also included.
All homestays are located on our school or public bus route which can be accessed by your child for an additional fee. Your child’s homestay family will ensure they know where to catch the bus before their first day of school.
