Our school has received a raft of top results following last year’s Cambridge exams.
Among the strong statistics, which include a Top in the World and a Top in New Zealand, the school should be particularly proud of its university entrance (UE) rate, says Principal Nathan Villars.
Eighty-nine per cent of last year’s eligible students received UE, compared a national rate of 40.6% in 2015. [National UE rates for 2016 are yet to be released.]
Not only are students at our school getting through, but they’re getting through with excellent results, Mr Villars continued. “At A level, which is taken in the final year of school, our students received an A or A* in 50% of the papers they sat.”
And those performances don’t necessarily come from students who are academic high fliers.
“Most of our students have simply worked very hard. They enjoy the structure here and our style of education, which focuses on good-quality teaching, self-motivation, and creating a culture where we celebrate achievement.
Overall highlights include
98% pass rate in A2 with 40% of the results at A* or A
89% pass rate in IGCSE with 31% of the results at A* or A
Secondary Checkpoint 94% pass rate with 33% at the top grade
Primary Checkpoint 98% pass rate with 31% at the top grade.
University Entrance rate is 89%
Top of New Zealand in IGCSE English language – Emily Taylor
Top of World AS Design Technology – Amelia Carlyle Rowe
Well done to all our students on their fantastic achievements.
