Strong Cambridge results ‘reflect hard work and dedication’

Cambridge International exam results have been released showing strong academic performances for ACG Sunderland, said Principal Nathan Villars.

While results are still being compiled, some standout results have already emerged:

• 100 percent pass rate at A Level
• 30 percent of grades were A or A*
• 70 percent of grades in A-C range (A-G grades are a pass)
• Year 13 student Keegan Macdonald scored 400 tariff points with A* grades in Business Studies and Design. Keegan is also the 2017 UHY Haines Norton Study Scholarship recipient.

ACG Sunderland Principal Nathan Villars said the results were on par with last year’s strong performances.

“Again, ACG Sunderland students have produced some outstanding academic results in the Cambridge International examinations. These results are not only an indication of each student’s hard work and dedication, but reflect a community focussed on preparing students for the next steps in their educational journey”.

Mr Villars, who is Chair of the Association of Cambridge Schools in New Zealand, said there was a common misconception that Cambridge International exams were only for academic high fliers, and put this year’s strong results down to preparation and dedication.

“Most of our students have simply worked very hard. They enjoy the structure here and our style of education, which focuses on good-quality teaching, self-motivation, and creating a culture where we celebrate achievement.”
